Introducing my new website! My old WordPress site was just too slow, and I was spending too much time updating plugins and WordPress, monitoring it for hacking, etc. Whenever I wanted to create a post, I had to put up with long load times every time I clicked. That’s mainly my fault, though, because I have the cheapest web hosting available. It’s something like $5 for lifetime hosting.

No, not really. I’m joking. (Previously I was using even cheaper hosting and they went under, so I lost all my work setting everything up and configuring it.)

Anyway, so I got tired of that work, and I redid my site as a static site using Hugo, and it’s fast. I’m still working all of the kinks and snags out, so there will probably be some problems for a while.

I’m using a heavily modified version of the Hugo Liva theme in case you were wondering.

I’ve also updated the site’s categories and tags to be more useful. Before I just was kind of random about categories and tags. But now I’ve spent some time thinking about how they can be useful. I haven’t worked it out completely yet, so that too is still a work in progress.
