After the last book (Brand New Coed) got adult dungeoned, I got kind of depressed because sales and reads were miniscule. I took some time off to think about things, about what I was trying to do.
They were right, though, to put it in the adult dungeon; that book was filthy. And so it really didn’t have much of a plot. That experience made me ask myself what I wanted to write.
I decided to make this latest book (which doesn’t have a title yet) more tame and a romance story. I mainly want to avoid the adult dungeon, but I want my books to be about something. Not that writing about sex isn’t writing about something, but there are financial concerns.
This fourth book is about 17,000 words now, and I hope to finish it by Wednesday, May 22, 2019, but Saturday (5/25) is probably more realistic. I’m still figuring the story out.
I’m struggling with a lot of self doubt and feelings that I don’t know what I’m doing, so that affects the writing progress. I’ve written for a long time but it’s been technical writing and that sort of thing, so writing fiction is pretty new for me. And I doubt I’ll ever feel like I really have a good handle on what I’m doing.
Let me know what you think.
